KPMG is one of the lead sponsors of the first ever global recruitment event jointly hosted by the Financial Times and the Economist on November 12 and 13, 2007. Focusing on women in business, the online Global Career Forum targets experienced hires, those women already in the workforce and those seeking new challenges.

Rachel Campbell, Head of People Management at KPMG in the UK, said: "This is a great opportunity to showcase the global opportunities within KPMG member firms and highlight our commitment to recruiting and developing the careers of talented women."

Over ten member firms from KPMG's global network will participate - visitors will be able to talk to KPMG people from member firms in different countries including Canada, South Africa, Australia, US, UK, Nigeria, China & Hong Kong SAR, Mexico, Croatia, Serbia, Malaysia, and Netherlands Antilles (including Aruba). Visitors will be able to explore a virtual 'stand' that will include a list of KPMG firms' opportunities around the world, a short video about working in KPMG and what it offers, as well as a webcast from Beth Wilson, Senior Partner in KPMG in Canada, talking about the role of women in Professional Services.

Visitors to the Global Career Forum will also be able to take part in virtual sessions on a number of topics including 'Women in Business: How to make it' and 'How to deal with headhunters' along with meeting other recruiters from other organizations.

Rachel Campbell continued: "Recruiting talented women is vital to the health and richness of any organization. We need to reflect our firms' clients and recognize that women CEOs and CFOs and entrepreneurs are increasing in number and importance. KPMG firms' clients expect and demand that those they work with are equally committed to the development of talented women."
