Capgemini (CAP.FR) expects to employ about 40,000 people in India by the end of 2010 from 17,500 now, the chief executive of the French information technology services company's Indian unit said Thursday.

"More and more of the business will be driven from India," Salil Parekh of Capgemini India told Dow Jones Newswires on the sidelines of a software industry summit.

The company currently operates out of the six Indian cities of Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata.

Doesn't rule out acquisition In China

Capgemini (CAP.FR) doesn't rule out making an acquisition in China, Chief Executive Paul Hermelin said Thursday.

The company is also looking at possibilities in the U.S. and German markets, but any deal would remain small scale, Hermelin told a press conference. "The priority is the speed of integration," he said.

Hermelin also said he thinks it is possible Indian IT services companies may win some big French and German clients in 2008, having pushed aggressively in the Nordic and Benelux countries in 2007.
