Accenture to set up Consulting Centres

Global consulting and outsourcing firm Accenture today said it planned to set up four management consulting centres in India, employing about 2,000 to offer full range of services to its domestic and overseas clients.
Accenture has opened its first Management Consulting Centre of Excellence in Gurgaon and would set up similar ones in Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai in the next one year. "We aim to have as many as 2,000 consultants in our centres across India by end of our fiscal year next August," Accenture's Group Chief Executive for Management Consulting and Integrated Markets Mark Foster told reporters here today.
He said the centres would have professionals from nearly 50 different backgrounds- engineers, economists, analysts, statisticians, college graduates- as well as experts from industries like banking, utilities, travel and business.
"The Gurgaon centre is the first for Accenture that will look at consulting from India. The centres will significantly enhance our consulting capabilities here, complementing our capabilities in technology and outsourcing," company Managing Director for Management Consulting in India Sanjay Jain said.
Consultants in the company's analytics centre will be integrated into the centre at Gurgaon, where they would offer a whole gamut of services including marketing and data analytics, marketing automation, among others. India has a good number of business school graduates and experienced professionals who can fill the need for consultants with strong analytical skills, Jain said.
The company has 15,000 management consultants around the world and it would be adding another 4,000-5,000 globally by August next year, including 2000 in India. It is looking to double number of consultants globally in the next three years.
